Female Red-Tailed Hawk seen
A note from Diane. The two juvenile red-tailed hawks have left the area but the adults are still seen occassionally. Ann
Ann Red-Tail,
I was crossing the hydro field on Brian Avenue when who should
appear but Big Mama! She flew out of an adjacent backyard and
landed on the hydro tower next to the road. The local birds
immediately started attacking, but she seemed very serene. We
haven't seen Egbert at all.
See ya,
Diane

J venile red-tail hawks today July 17 2011
Juvenile Red-Tail Hawk Charlene (female) captured a rat in the field. She was enjoying the tail on the rat. (I did a double check to see if any rats were near me as I only had on flip flops)

Gary, Diane and I were thrilled to see both juveniles today. They looked hot but very healthy.

Young Chance (male) was flying around the hydro towers.

Ann Red-tail,
Big Mama was hunting in the hydro field this morning, no sign of male. Chance and Charlene were hanging around in the spruce tree
and on Cheryl and Dave's TV antenna, braying for food and looking good. Photos are awesome, hawk lady!
